Acclaimed contemporary photographers Richard Heeps and Natasha Heidler have teamed up to produce a stunning, limited edition print collection, which celebrates the iconic vinyl record through their own, analogue photography practices. 'B Side 2014 - Artist Proof' depicts a vinyl record, perfectly set within the space of an inky black square. The grooved surface of the disc has been coloured with fading shades of 1970s orange and green, which contrasts against the centre tone of pale pink, to create the effect of a huge, colourful eyeball, staring unblinkingly ahead. As the soft outline of the record gives way to the hard, black background, the striated lines of the vinyl seem to spin hypnotically, allowing Heeps and Heidler to capture something of the tangible, material quality of the brittle music medium, suffusing it with a bold and mesmerising aesthetic for a truly captivating print.
