Chris Bourke

Worcester based print-maker Chris Bourke produces a beautiful range of prints from hand-made Linocuts. Using clean lines and a predominantly monochrome palette, Bourke archives a certain naive charm, built around a carefully crafted, stripped back simplicity. His prints are inspired by tattoo art and religious iconography, a pairing that works to exceptional success, centring around graphic patterns, typography and illustrative imagery, to create miniature tableaus and iconic motifs. Each of Bourke's prints possess a unique character: due to the cutting and printing process, no two pieces are ever exactly the same, and Bourke hand finishes many of his prints with watercolour or gold leaf detailing.
