Curare By Damien Hirst

This is a stunning new spot print from Damien Hirst.  A wood cut print on 410gsm Somerset White paper it is signed by Damien Hirst on the front and numbered on the back. Part of an edition of 55 published in 2011. Far from being identical, Damien Hirst woodcut spot prints are each a unique product of a highly detailed process. The woodcut is achieved by covering the side-grain of a cherry-wood block surface with ink by rolling over the surface with an ink-covered roller – called a "brayer". The impression is printed by placing the paper directly on the woodblock and then applying pressure through a press.
