Love Letter - Green By Lene BladBjerg

Danish artist Lene Bladbjerg creates prints of striking graphic quality. Crossing the line from graphic design to fine art, Bladbjerg's work is infused with a gently haunting character, as bold type and strong composition dominate the frame. 'Loveletter (Green)' exploits Bladbjerg's keen eye for typography and graphic composition: like a noughts and crosses game gone AWOL, the flat, teal-coloured background is awash with alternating 'X's and 'O's, in large, white, sans-serif type. Bladbjerg plays with the minimalist aesthetic by upsetting the uniform regularity at the last moment: a question mark nestles in the bottom corner of the print, as though querying the entire typographical structure. Full of knowing naivety, the print is packed with mesmerising charm and allure: a truly arresting piece of contemporary print work.
